Wordpress Download Manager / Wordpress File Manager / Download plugin for Wordpress.
Finally after searching high and low for a good Download Manager Plug-in for Wordpress I came across Wordpress Download Monitor by Blue-Anvil.
The name of the plug-in suggests it monitors downloads but in fact its a bit more than that, it allows you to upload and manage your downloads with the Admin menu in Wordpress. It can also list downloads and show hits and a download image if selected.

* Admin page for uploading/linking to downloads, and specifying information (title and version).
* Records download hits.
* Template tags for showing popular, recent, and random downloads in your web site’s sidebar.
* Post tags for outputting download links e.g [download#id]
* Drop-down menu in non-rich text wordpress editor for adding links.
